Mercyhurst College

Overview

Mercyhurst University, located in Erie, Pennsylvania, was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1926 and continues to integrate a liberal arts background with career preparation. The university boasts a picturesque, 75-acre campus characterized by its Gothic architecture and situated just a few miles from Lake Erie's shores. With a Moderately Selective admission process, Mercyhurst offers a range of undergraduate, graduate, and associate degree programs, notably excelling in fields such as Intelligence Studies, Forensic Science, and Hospitality Management. The university also provides on-campus housing options for its diverse student body. While the institution does not highlight a focus on athletics, it offers a variety of varsity sports teams, known as the Lakers, competing in the NCAA Division II.

In the most recent statistical year 3,625 prospective students applied, and 2,920 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 547 enrolled in the school.  2,477 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 324 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $40,530 plus fees of $2,930.
