Overview

Chatham University is a private institution nestled in the vibrant Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, located approximately 3 miles east of downtown. Established in 1869, originally as a women's college, Chatham has since grown into a coeducational university with a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate programs. Known for its strong emphasis on sustainability and global awareness, Chatham offers distinctive degrees such as the Master of Sustainability and Master of Food Studies, alongside popular majors including health sciences and business. With a campus marked by Victorian architecture, Chatham University provides a scenic environment for its students, featuring the Chatham Arboretum, which spans across campus, offering green spaces and a serene setting. In the most recent statistical year 3,514 prospective students applied, and 2,331 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 306 enrolled in the school.  1,853 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 534 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $40,625 plus fees of $1,500.
