Overview

Salem College, chartered in 1772 and located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, stands as the oldest educational institution for women in the United States by its original founding date. Nestled in the historic district of its namesake city, the campus features a picturesque landscape accentuated by Moravian architectural styles, providing a blend of historic charm and contemporary educational facilities. As a liberal arts college, Salem offers a wide array of undergraduate programs with particularly notable offerings in education and music, as well as graduate degrees in education and school counseling. In the most recent statistical year 1,159 prospective students applied, and 1,014 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 91 enrolled in the school.  280 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 189 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $30,500 plus fees of $516.
