Overview

Durham Technical Community College, commonly known as Durham Tech, is a public two-year educational institution located in Durham, North Carolina. It provides a diverse range of academic programs, including technical and vocational training, which cater to a wide array of interests and career objectives. Established in 1961, Durham Tech serves the city of Durham and the surrounding region, prominently positioned near the renowned Research Triangle Park. The college's campus presents a blend of contemporary facilities designed to support its mission of workforce development and higher education accessibility. Durham Technical Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  757 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 3,537 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,824 plus fees of $134.

Durham Technical Community College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
