Houghton College

Overview

Houghton College, a private liberal arts institution affiliated with the Wesleyan Church, is nestled within the scenic Allegheny region of western New York, roughly 70 miles from Buffalo. Established in 1883, the college offers a rural setting across a 1,300-acre campus characterized by its historic, ivy-clad buildings that blend Victorian architecture with modern facilities. Houghton is known for integrating a Christian worldview across its curriculum and maintains a selective admissions process. In the most recent statistical year 974 prospective students applied, and 750 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 180 enrolled in the school.  720 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 113 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $15,900 plus fees of $546.
