Meridian Community College

Overview

Meridian Community College (MCC), established in 1937, is a public community college located in Meridian, Mississippi. The college's campus boasts a contemporary architectural style and provides a range of facilities and services to its students, including on-campus housing options. MCC is situated approximately 93 miles east of the state capital, Jackson, and serves as an accessible post-secondary institution for the eastern Mississippi region. While the college maintains an open admissions policy, it offers a diverse array of academic programs, with particular emphasis on health sciences, business, and industry-relevant workforce training. Popular majors amongst students include Nursing, Business Administration, and Liberal Arts. MCC does not have a prominent athletic program and thus is not particularly notable for intercollegiate athletic success, focusing instead on academic and vocational training for its student body.

Meridian Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  1,745 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 876 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $3,552 plus fees of $259.

Meridian Community College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
