Bethany Lutheran College

Overview

Bethany Lutheran College is a private residential liberal arts college located in Mankato, Minnesota, approximately 85 miles southwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul. Established in 1927 by the Evangelical Lutheran Synod, the college features a picturesque 50-acre campus marked by a blend of historic and modern buildings with a coherent, collegiate Gothic architectural style. Bethany Lutheran offers a range of undergraduate programs, with notable strengths in media arts, business, education, and pre-professional studies. While the college maintains a broadly based liberal arts curriculum, it is also known for its Vocation and Christian Leadership Program, emphasizing the integration of faith with professional and academic pursuits. Bethany Lutheran has a selective admission process and provides on-campus housing options, encouraging a close-knit educational and living environment. The college competes athletically as the Vikings but is not primarily recognized for its athletic programs.

In the most recent statistical year 665 prospective students applied, and 389 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 176 enrolled in the school.  667 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 163 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $28,330 plus fees of $680.
