Overview

Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College (SCTC), established in 1998, is a public tribal community college located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, catering primarily to the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal community as well as the general public. The campus sits in a suburban setting within the Isabella Indian Reservation, fostering a cultural and educational environment centered around the preservation and advancement of Anishinaabe (Ojibwe) culture. SCTC provides a range of associate's degree programs and certificate courses, with a focus on natural resources, liberal arts, and Native American studies. The institution maintains a moderately selective admissions process, welcoming a diverse student body interested in both academic pursuits and cultural enrichment. There is no on-campus housing available at SCTC. Renowned for its commitment to indigenous education and community outreach, the college does not have an emphasis on intercollegiate athletics.

Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  39 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 104 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $1,560 plus fees of $650.
