Overview

Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) is situated in Springfield, Massachusetts, and serves as an accessible public institution for higher education in the Pioneer Valley region, near the major cultural and economic hub of Hartford, Connecticut. Established as a technical institute in 1967, it occupies the site of the Springfield Armory National Historic Site, with campus buildings that reflect a blend of historical and modern architecture. STCC offers a diverse range of associate degree programs, with a particular emphasis on technology, engineering, and health-related fields designed to meet the evolving needs of the regional workforce. The college has an open admissions policy, aiming to provide educational opportunities to a broad demographic of students. While primarily a commuter campus, STCC supports a vibrant academic atmosphere through its various laboratories, workshops, and a technology park where students undertake practical learning experiences. Springfield Technical Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  1,422 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 2,523 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $600 plus fees of $4,920.
