Overview

Simmons College of Kentucky, located in Louisville, is a private historically Black college and Baptist-affiliated institution with a commitment to empowering its diverse student body through higher education and community leadership. Established in 1879, Simmons College holds the distinction of being one of the nation's oldest private HBCUs. Its urban campus is situated in an area that combines the vibrancy of city life with the close-knit feel of a smaller community. Academically, the college provides an array of undergraduate degrees, with popular majors including religious studies and business. Simmons College is recognized for its accessible admissions process. Simmons College of Kentucky has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  192 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 45 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $16,008 plus fees of $390.
