Overview

Sauk Valley Community College (SVCC) is a two-year public institution located in Dixon, Illinois, along the picturesque Rock River, approximately 100 miles west of Chicago. Established in 1965, SVCC serves a diverse student population through a variety of associate degree and certificate programs. The college's academic offerings cover a broad spectrum, including but not limited to, vocational training, transfer programs, and adult education. Known for its accessible admission policy, SVCC caters to both traditional and non-traditional students seeking post-secondary education in a supportive and inclusive environment. The campus does not provide on-campus housing, encouraging a commuter culture among its students. Sauk Valley Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  634 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 752 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $10,800 plus fees of $780.
