MacMurray College was a private liberal arts college located in Jacksonville, Illinois, about thirty-five miles west of the state capital, Springfield. Founded in 1846 by the Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church, the college was named in honor of clergyman, The Rev. James MacMurray, who was instrumental in its founding. Renowned for its emphasis on professional training with a liberal arts foundation, MacMurray College offered a range of undergraduate programs with particular strengths in the fields of Deaf Education and Nursing. The college?s campus architecturally showcased a blend of traditional and modern designs, providing residential facilities for students who opted for on-campus living. Despite its notable past, MacMurray College permanently closed in May 2020, following years of financial challenges, compounded by declining enrollments and the COVID-19 pandemic's impact.

537 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 11 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $27,740 plus fees of $800.
