Overview

East Georgia State College, located in Swainsboro, Georgia, occupies a rural setting approximately 90 miles from Savannah. Founded in 1973, this public, state-funded institution has evolved to offer associate and bachelor degree programs catering primarily to students seeking smaller class sizes and personalized attention. The campus features a contemporary architectural style with student accommodation facilities providing on-campus housing options. Academically, East Georgia State College is moderately selective in its admissions process and is known for its pathways in the liberal arts and sciences, along with programs in biology, nursing, and teacher education. East Georgia College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
