Overview

Darton College, located in Albany, Georgia, is a two-year institution that was initially established as Albany Junior College in 1963. The suburban campus spans an expansive area, providing students with spacious surroundings amid the characteristic architecture influenced by modern design elements. As part of the larger Georgia Southwestern State University system, Darton College integrates a range of associate degree programs, with a particular emphasis on health sciences, which rank among its most pursued academic offerings. Darton College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  1,684 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 2,436 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $2,181 plus fees of $1,214.

Darton College is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
