University of the West, established in 1991 and accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission, is a private, not-for-profit institution located in Rosemead, California, just a short drive from downtown Los Angeles. This modest-sized university fosters a distinctive merging of Eastern and Western educational philosophies and offers a range of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs with a strong emphasis on Buddhism and its integration into modern American society. Known for its Master of Business Administration and its religious studies programs, the college seeks to provide a diverse academic environment.
