Emory and Henry College

Overview

Established in 1836, Emory and Henry College is a private liberal arts institution nestled in the highlands of Southwest Virginia, in the small town of Emory, near the larger city of Bristol. The campus, renowned for its historic and stately architecture, including Wiley Hall which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, spans over 335 acres and provides a picturesque setting for the college's academic and extracurricular pursuits. Emory and Henry emphasizes rigorous academics with a broad range of undergraduate programs, with strengths in the liberal arts and sciences. Students have the opportunity to live on-campus, fostering a close-knit residential experience that complements their academic endeavors. In the most recent statistical year 2,288 prospective students applied, and 2,216 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 347 enrolled in the school.  1,329 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 29 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $34,500 plus fees of $655.
