The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK), a public research institution founded in 1794, is the flagship campus of the University of Tennessee system. Situated in Knoxville, approximately 180 miles east of Nashville, the campus is distinguished by a diverse architectural landscape that includes both modern and historical buildings. UTK offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate programs, with notable strengths in engineering, business, and law. The admissions process at UTK is moderately selective, seeking to enroll a diverse and academically prepared student body. The university provides on-campus housing options to accommodate a significant portion of its student population.
