Overview

The University of South Carolina-Columbia, established in 1801, is a public research university located in Columbia, South Carolina's capital city. It is situated within an urban setting and encompasses a campus noted for its historic buildings, such as the Horseshoe, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As the flagship institution of the University of South Carolina system, it holds a comprehensive range of academic programs with notable strengths in business, engineering, and nursing.
