Limestone University

Overview

Limestone University is a private liberal arts institution located in Gaffney, South Carolina. Established in 1845, the university occupies a suburban setting approximately 50 miles southwest of Charlotte, North Carolina. Embodying a blend of traditional southern architecture, the campus features a range of historic buildings and modern facilities. Limestone offers undergraduate and graduate degrees across various fields, with an emphasis on programs in business, education, and the social sciences. The university enacts a moderately selective admissions process. On-campus living is an integral part of the Limestone experience, with residence halls and apartment-style housing available to students. Notably, Limestone fields competitive teams in NCAA Division II athletics, particularly known for their achievements in lacrosse and basketball, and these teams compete under the moniker 'Saints'.

In the most recent statistical year 2,260 prospective students applied, and 2,022 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 334 enrolled in the school.  1,473 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 313 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $25,200 plus fees of $1,100. Limestone University is designated as a Predominantly Black Institution (PBI) and receives federal grants supporting the school's efforts to serve low and middle-income Black Americans.
