Newberry College

Overview

Newberry College is a private liberal arts institution located in Newberry, South Carolina, approximately 40 miles from the state capital, Columbia. Founded in 1856 and affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the college offers a suburban campus setting noted for its historic buildings of Elizabethan architectural style. Newberry provides a range of undergraduate degrees across 32 majors, with particularly strong programs in the sciences, education, business, and the arts. The school presents an inclusive admissions process. On-campus living is facilitated through multiple residence halls, fostering a close-knit residential experience. Newberry College is also known for its athletic participation in the NCAA Division II, as part of the South Atlantic Conference, with its teams known as the Wolves.

In the most recent statistical year 3,196 prospective students applied, and 2,407 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 398 enrolled in the school.  1,273 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 39 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $26,350 plus fees of $2,750.
