Overview

Central Michigan University (CMU), established in 1892, is a public research university located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The campus exhibits a mix of modern and traditional architecture across its suburban setting. Offering a diverse array of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, CMU is notably strong in fields such as business administration, education, and health professions. With a moderately selective admissions process, the university draws a sizeable student population, providing both on-campus living accommodations and off-campus housing options. While the university is not in close proximity to a major metropolitan area, it maintains a lively campus atmosphere bolstered by its multitude of student organizations and recreational facilities. In the most recent statistical year 19,888 prospective students applied, and 15,701 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 2,019 enrolled in the school.  11,012 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 3,545 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $13,200 plus fees of $450.
