Overview

Northern Michigan University (NMU), located in Marquette, Michigan, provides a comprehensive educational experience with its picturesque campus along the southern shores of Lake Superior. Established in 1899, NMU occupies a vast 360-acre main campus, characterized by abundant natural surroundings and notable facilities such as the Superior Dome. The institution offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, with notable emphasis on environmental science studies and innovative programs in medicinal plant chemistry. In the most recent statistical year 6,217 prospective students applied, and 4,386 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 1,416 enrolled in the school.  5,818 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 1,152 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $11,796 plus fees of $852.
