Alma College

Overview

Alma College, situated in the small town of Alma, Michigan, approximately 45 miles north of Lansing, is a private liberal arts college founded in 1886. The institution features a picturesque campus known for its Scottish heritage-inspired architecture, which includes the iconic Alma College Chapel. This residential college requires students to live on campus for six semesters in a variety of housing options, fostering a close-knit living and learning environment. Alma College offers a broad spectrum of academic programs with an emphasis on personalized education, notable for its extensive offerings in the arts and sciences. Selectivity for admission is considered moderately competitive, with a careful review of applicants' scholastic and extracurricular achievements. In the most recent statistical year 3,372 prospective students applied, and 2,180 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 333 enrolled in the school.  1,238 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 22 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $45,346 plus fees of $270.
