Overview

Savannah State University, chartered in 1890 and located in Savannah, Georgia, stands as the oldest public historically black university in the state. The campus sprawls across a picturesque 201-acre tract near the city's eastern boundary, within a brief drive to the historic downtown area and a short distance from the Atlantic coastline. Its lush setting includes a mix of contemporary and historic buildings that reflect a rich heritage. Savannah State offers a range of bachelor's and master's degree programs, with noteworthy emphasis on STEM disciplines, business, and liberal arts. Savannah State University has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  2,437 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 508 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $4,064 plus fees of $1,434.
