California State University-San Marcos (CSUSM) is a public institution that was established in 1989 and is part of the 23-school California State University system. Located in San Marcos, it is situated in a suburban setting roughly 30 miles north of San Diego, offering students the dual benefits of a smaller community environment with proximity to a major urban center.
