Overview

The University of Virginia's College at Wise, situated in Wise, Virginia, is a public liberal arts college that offers a picturesque campus set amid the Appalachian Mountains. Established in 1954 as a branch of the University of Virginia, it maintains the same Jeffersonian architectural heritage as its parent institution in Charlottesville. UVa-Wise is particularly recognized for its strong programs in business, education, and the liberal arts and sciences that cater to a wide range of academic interests. In the most recent statistical year 835 prospective students applied, and 631 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 251 enrolled in the school.  1,054 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 650 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $6,040 plus fees of $5,458.
