Brevard College

Overview

Brevard College is a private liberal arts institution nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Brevard, North Carolina, approximately 33 miles southwest of Asheville. Founded in 1853, the college boasts a picturesque campus known for its natural beauty and proximity to various outdoor activities, fitting for its environmental science program's prominence. The campus features a mix of modern and historical architecture with facilities that support a residential experience, offering on-campus housing for students. Brevard College operates on a semester-based academic calendar and maintains a broad array of undergraduate majors, with education, business, and biology being among the student body's common choices. The institution is recognized for a modestly selective admissions process. While not primarily known for its intercollegiate athletics, Brevard College fields teams in a variety of sports, known as the Tornados.

In the most recent statistical year 2,206 prospective students applied, and 880 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 174 enrolled in the school.  739 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 20 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $28,400 plus fees of $1,850.
