Iona College

Overview

Iona College, a private institution founded in 1940 by the Congregation of Christian Brothers, is situated in the suburban locale of New Rochelle, New York, approximately 20 miles northeast of Manhattan. The college offers a variety of undergraduate programs, with a significant focus on business, communications, and liberal arts education. Iona's academic climate is supported by a student-faculty ratio that facilitates a more personalized learning experience. Selectivity for applicants is considered moderately competitive. The campus features a cohesive blend of modern and traditional architecture, with facilities that bolster academic and student life, including residence halls for on-campus living. While Iona College has a diverse array of extracurricular activities, it is particularly recognized for its Hynes Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. In terms of athletics, the Gaels compete in NCAA Division I, and are particularly noted for their successful basketball and track and field programs.

In the most recent statistical year 6,228 prospective students applied, and 6,004 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 809 enrolled in the school.  2,999 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 622 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $42,128 plus fees of $2,200.
