Overview

Monmouth University, situated in West Long Branch, New Jersey, is a private university that provides a picturesque coastal setting only one hour from New York City. Chartered in 1933, it became a university in 1995 and now encompasses a 170-acre campus renowned for its historic architecture, including the National Historic Landmark, Wilson Hall. Monmouth offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs with particular emphasis on business, education, communication, nursing, and social work. With a moderately selective admissions process, the university attracts a diverse undergraduate population. Student housing is plentiful, with a variety of residence halls and apartment-style living options available on campus. Monmouth University is also recognized for its Hawks athletic programs, competing in the NCAA Division I in various sports, including basketball and football.

In the most recent statistical year 7,937 prospective students applied, and 7,216 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 896 enrolled in the school.  4,259 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 768 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $42,504 plus fees of $712.
