Overview

Rowan University, located in Glassboro, New Jersey, approximately 18 miles southeast of Philadelphia, is a public research institution founded in 1923. Initially established as a teacher preparation college, Rowan has since expanded its academic offerings across numerous disciplines, with notable programs in engineering, business, education, and performing arts. The campus is characterized by contemporary architecture, with facilities that support a range of educational activities, including a state-of-the-art engineering hall and a business hall with modern trading floor simulation rooms. The university provides on-campus housing options for its student body, which promotes a residential learning experience. While the institution has an inclusive admissions policy, the selectivity varies by program. Rowan's athletics teams, known as the Profs, participate in Division III sports, though the university is not predominantly recognized for its athletic programs.

In the most recent statistical year 16,903 prospective students applied, and 13,006 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 2,585 enrolled in the school.  15,740 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 3,795 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $10,715 plus fees of $4,237.
