Avila University, established in 1916 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, is a private, co-educational institution situated in the suburban reaches of Kansas City, Missouri. The university's campus reflects a contemporary aesthetic with various modern facilities conducive to learning and student life, including options for on-campus housing. Avila provides a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs, with nursing, psychology, and business being particularly popular among its student body. Though the university maintains an inclusive admissions policy, it upholds a selective evaluation process to assemble a dedicated and diverse cohort of students. While Avila may not be widely recognized for its athletic programs, it offers opportunities for student-athletes at the varsity, club, and intramural levels.
