Overview

Brandeis University, located in Waltham, Massachusetts, approximately nine miles from Boston, is a private research university established in 1948. Named after the first Jewish Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, Louis Brandeis, the university presents a suburban campus environment with a mix of traditional brick architecture and modern facilities. The campus offers a range of student housing options, including residence halls and suite-style living. Academically, Brandeis is known for its strong programs in the liberal arts and sciences, and its curriculum encourages interdisciplinary coursework. The university houses notable research institutions, such as the Heller School for Social Policy and Management and the International Business School. Brandeis maintains a highly selective admissions process, and its relatively small undergraduate population allows for a low student-faculty ratio. While Brandeis does participate in NCAA Division III athletics, it is not specifically renowned for its sports programs.

In the most recent statistical year 9,917 prospective students applied, and 3,908 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 986 enrolled in the school.  5,145 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 436 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $61,724 plus fees of $598.
