Eureka College, located in the small town of Eureka, Illinois, is a private liberal arts institution founded in 1855 by a group of abolitionists from the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Approximately 140 miles southwest of Chicago, Eureka College sits on a cozy, 65-acre tree-lined campus noted for its historical ivy-covered buildings that reflect a traditional collegiate Gothic architectural style. The college offers a range of undergraduate programs, with notable emphasis on the liberal arts and sciences. Eureka is particularly recognized for its leadership program and has maintained its historical affiliation with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), incorporating values-based education into its curriculum. Eureka maintains a selective admissions process, seeking students who demonstrate strong academic potential.
