Monmouth College

Overview

Monmouth College, located in Monmouth, Illinois, is a private liberal arts college founded in 1853. The institution is situated approximately four hours from Chicago and maintains a historic campus noted for its red-brick buildings reflective of Georgian architectural style. Monmouth College offers a variety of undergraduate degree programs, with particular strengths in the sciences, business, education, and the fine arts. The college operates under a semester-based academic calendar and exhibits moderate selectivity in its admissions process. While the college doesn?t emphasize athletics as a defining feature, students participate in NCAA Division III sports as the Fighting Scots.

In the most recent statistical year 1,818 prospective students applied, and 1,649 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 231 enrolled in the school.  750 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 17 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $42,064 plus fees of $150.
