Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC), situated in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, is a public, two-year institution with a focus on providing vocational, technical, and continuing education. Established in 1912, CVTC has grown substantially, now hosting numerous campuses and outreach locations across several counties. The Eau Claire campus, the main hub of CVTC's operations, exhibits a modern architectural style with facilities designed to support hands-on learning experiences. The college is located in the largely suburban area of Eau Claire, providing students with the close-knit community feel of a smaller town, yet it is within proximity to the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, roughly an hour and a half drive to the west. CVTC is known for its open admissions policy, offering a variety of programs with particular emphasis on fields like nursing, business, and manufacturing, which align with regional workforce needs. While CVTC does not provide on-campus housing, it serves a diverse population of commuters, full-time, and part-time students. The college does not emphasize intercollegiate athletics, focusing instead on preparing students for immediate entry into the workforce or for further education.
