Overview

Reading Area Community College (RACC), located in the city of Reading, Pennsylvania, provides a range of associate degree programs, certificates, and training opportunities for its students. Established in 1971, this public, two-year institution emphasizes accessibility and offers a noncompetitive admissions process. The campus, situated on the edge of downtown Reading near the scenic Schuylkill River, is within commuting distance of both the suburban areas and the rural regions of Berks County, as well as being approximately 60 miles northwest of Philadelphia. RACC is known for its array of programs in fields such as healthcare, business, education, and technology. While the college does not offer on-campus housing, it facilitates a commuter-friendly atmosphere with a focus on serving the local community. The college does not have a notable athletic program. Reading Area Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  919 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 3,614 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $8,700 plus fees of $1,770.
