Parkland College

Overview

Parkland College is a public community college located in Champaign, Illinois, providing access to higher education in a city that it shares with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Founded in 1967, the college sits on a 233-acre suburban campus with a range of facilities catering to various academic and vocational disciplines. Parkland's academic profile includes over 130 degree and certificate programs, with notable emphasis on Health Professions, Agriculture, Engineering Science and Technologies, and Computer Science and Information Technology. Its application process is open, admitting a broad spectrum of applicants. While the main focus is on academics, Parkland does offer student housing through its partnership with privately owned housing properties. The campus atmosphere is geared towards practical learning with hands-on experiences facilitated through state-of-the-art equipment and dedicated faculty. Parkland College fields teams known as the Cobras in several sports within the NJCAA Division II; however, its primary focus remains on educational advancement over athletic prominence.

Parkland College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  2,147 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 3,539 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $10,905 plus fees of $675.
