Overview

Kaskaskia College, established in 1940, is a public community college located in Centralia, Illinois, roughly 60 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. The college provides a setting that combines suburban tranquility with the semi-rural charm of its surrounding areas. Occupying a 202-acre main campus, Kaskaskia offers a variety of academic programs with a noted emphasis on health sciences and vocational-technical training. While the college maintains an open admissions policy, aligning with its mission to provide accessible higher education, it also offers selective programs in certain fields that necessitate additional criteria for student enrollment. The institution has arrangements in place for students wishing to live on campus, featuring residence halls that contribute to an immersive educational experience. Although Kaskaskia does not have a broad reputation for athletics, it provides opportunities for student engagement in physical education and recreational sports.

Kaskaskia College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  1,082 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 2,288 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $7,050 plus fees of $480.
