Overview

Quinnipiac University, established in 1929, is a private institution situated in Hamden, Connecticut, nestled in the foothills of the Sleeping Giant State Park, which provides a picturesque backdrop for the university's distinctly New England campus architecture. Approximately eight miles north of New Haven, Quinnipiac is composed of three campuses?Mount Carmel, York Hill, and North Haven?that together offer a variety of professional and liberal arts programs. The university is known for its nationally recognized programs in business, communications, health sciences, nursing, and law. Quinnipiac offers residential housing options across its campuses, striving to accommodate the majority of its undergraduate student population on campus. While Quinnipiac maintains a selective admissions process, it draws a diverse pool of applicants. The university does not have a heavy athletic focus, but it participates in NCAA Division I athletics as the Quinnipiac Bobcats, with ice hockey being a notable sport for which it has received recognition.

In the most recent statistical year 18,668 prospective students applied, and 15,641 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 1,605 enrolled in the school.  7,579 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 1,209 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $49,170 plus fees of $2,620.
