Overview

Chester College of New England, previously located in Chester, New Hampshire, was a private liberal arts college that took pride in offering personalized education with a low student-to-faculty ratio, ensuring an intimate academic setting. Nestled in a quaint, rural town setting, the college was situated near Manchester, providing students access to urban resources while retaining a tight-knit community feel. Founded in 1965 as White Pines College and later re-established as Chester College of New England in 2002, it held a history of evolving educational focus, concluding as an institution specializing in the creative arts including creative writing, photography, and the fine arts. The college was characterized by its selective admissions process, attracting students who were seeking an immersive arts education. Facilities for on-campus living were available to complement the collegiate experience. In May 2012, Chester College closed its doors due to financial difficulties and is no longer operating as a higher education institution.
