Overview

Michigan Jewish Institute (MJI) is a private institution located in West Bloomfield, Michigan, which is in proximity to the major metropolitan area of Detroit. Founded in 1994, MJI has a focused mission on providing postsecondary education primarily to the Jewish community. The campus offers a serene suburban setting conducive to academic pursuits with facilities designed to meet the needs of its student body. MJI is characterized by an intimate educational environment and offers associate and bachelor's degree programs with a particular emphasis on Judaic studies, business administration, and computer information systems. This institute has a relatively open admissions policy. While on-campus housing is not provided, the college assists students in finding local accommodations to ensure a supportive living experience. MJI does not have an emphasis on intercollegiate athletics.

In the most recent statistical year 1,621 prospective students applied, and 1,075 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 980 enrolled in the school.  836 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 160 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $3,880 plus fees of $100.
