Carthage College

Overview

Carthage College, founded in 1847 and affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, is a private liberal arts college located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Positioned on the Lake Michigan shoreline, the campus is about halfway between Milwaukee and Chicago, offering a scenic lakeside setting that compliments its distinct collection of Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architecture. The college enrolls roughly 2,500 full-time undergraduate students, providing an intimate academic environment with small class sizes and a student-to-faculty ratio that encourages personalized learning experiences. While Carthage offers a range of more than 50 majors and minors, it places a unique emphasis on interdisciplinary study, undergraduate research, and is recognized for its science programs and the innovative Carthage Symposium for freshmen. The institution maintains a moderately selective admissions process. On-campus living is an integral part of the Carthage experience, with a variety of housing options available to students.

In the most recent statistical year 8,112 prospective students applied, and 6,638 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 732 enrolled in the school.  2,532 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 135 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $34,500 plus fees of $0.
