Overview

Whitworth University, founded in 1890, is a private liberal arts institution situated on a 200-acre campus in Spokane, Washington, approximately 10 miles from the city center. The university is distinguished by its picturesque pine-covered campus known for its Tudor-Gothic architecture. Whitworth offers undergraduate and graduate programs across more than 100 fields of study, highlighting its strengths in business management, education, and health sciences. With a moderate level of application selectivity, the university provides a rigorous academic environment. Residential life is emphasized with a vast majority of students living in the university's housing options, which includes traditional dormitories and theme houses. Whitworth competes in NCAA Division III athletics, with many students participating in varsity sports, including notably strong programs in basketball and soccer.

In the most recent statistical year 4,126 prospective students applied, and 3,735 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 455 enrolled in the school.  2,159 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 256 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $47,700 plus fees of $1,290.
