Overview

Virginia Wesleyan University, established in 1961 and affiliated with the United Methodist Church, sits on a 300-acre suburban campus in Norfolk, Virginia, adjacent to the vibrant city of Virginia Beach. This small, private liberal arts college offers comprehensive undergraduate, graduate, and online programs, with a strong emphasis on the liberal arts and sciences. The university's academic profile includes popular majors in the fields of Biological and Environmental Sciences, Business, Education, and the Social Sciences. With a modestly selective application process, Virginia Wesleyan strives to maintain a diverse and academically inclined student population. In the most recent statistical year 1,718 prospective students applied, and 1,399 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 281 enrolled in the school.  1,115 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 423 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $36,010 plus fees of $900.
