Overview

Sam Houston State University (SHSU), located in Huntsville, Texas, approximately 70 miles north of Houston, offers students a blend of rural setting and proximity to urban amenities. Founded in 1879, SHSU has a rich history and has evolved into a public institution that provides diverse academic offerings, including well-regarded programs in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, and Education.
