Francis Marion University

Overview

Founded in 1970, Francis Marion University is a public institution located in Florence, South Carolina, roughly 2 hours east of the state capital, Columbia. The university sits on a 400-acre campus distinguished by a mix of modern and traditional architecture set within a tranquil, wooded environment. It offers a variety of bachelor's and master's degree programs, with a particular emphasis on the liberal arts, business, education, and health sciences. The application process is characterized as moderately selective. On-campus living is available, with numerous housing options to accommodate the needs of its student body. Noteworthy at Francis Marion is their notable Business Program, as well as their contribution in the fields of education and health sciences.
