Penn State Hazleton

Overview

Penn State Hazleton, a commonwealth campus of Pennsylvania State University, is situated in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, approximately 45 miles southwest of the major city of Scranton. Founded in 1934, this undergraduate institution prides itself on providing a variety of associate and baccalaureate degree programs with popular majors that include business, engineering, and the liberal arts. The campus reflects the collegiate Georgian architectural style, offering a traditional aesthetic to the academic environment. Penn State Hazleton maintains a moderately selective admissions policy and offers on-campus living through residence halls that accommodate a significant portion of the student body. While not known for a broad athletic program, the campus does field several teams known as the Nittany Lions, participating in a range of intermural sports within the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

In the most recent statistical year 585 prospective students applied, and 526 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 149 enrolled in the school.  452 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 21 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $14,624 plus fees of $516.
