Moore College of Art and Design

Overview

Moore College of Art & Design is a private college focused on the visual arts, located in the heart of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1848, it holds the distinction of being the first and only visual arts college for women in the United States. Moore offers undergraduate degrees in fields such as Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Photography, and Illustration, alongside graduate programs including an MA in Art Education and an MFA in Socially-Engaged Studio Art. The urban campus reflects a modern sensibility with facilities supporting a diverse range of artistic endeavors, and offers on-campus student housing. While Moore College is not characterized by a significant athletic program, it has a notable academic reputation, particularly within the arts and design fields, and maintains a moderately selective admissions process.

In the most recent statistical year 1,510 prospective students applied, and 803 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 113 enrolled in the school.  354 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 14 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $46,400 plus fees of $1,590.
