Overview

Oregon State University (OSU), located in Corvallis, a quintessential college town nestled in the heart of the Willamette Valley, is approximately 90 minutes south of the metropolitan area of Portland. Established in 1868, OSU is a public research institution that encompasses a historic campus known for its distinctive Mission-style architecture. OSU is recognized for a broad spectrum of academic programs, including highly regarded disciplines in forestry, oceanography, and robotics. The university offers a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees, maintaining a moderate level of application selectivity. On-campus living is provided through multiple residence halls and specialized living communities. OSU competes in NCAA Division I athletics as the Beavers, with particular notability in baseball, where the team has secured multiple national championships.

In the most recent statistical year 25,651 prospective students applied, and 21,169 were granted admission.  Of those admitted 4,513 enrolled in the school.  23,189 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 11,103 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $10,425 plus fees of $2,239.
