Overview

Blue Mountain Community College (BMCC), located in Pendleton, Oregon, is a public institution established in 1962. Nestled in the rural area of northeastern Oregon, BMCC offers students a scenic backdrop typical of the Pacific Northwest and operates additional campuses in Baker City, Milton-Freewater, and Hermiston, as well as education centers within the region. Pendleton, known for its historic charm and the famed Pendleton Round-Up rodeo, lies approximately 215 miles east of Portland, providing a balance of rural tranquility and access to urban amenities. BMCC presents a diverse array of academic programs, with a particular emphasis on agricultural sciences, nursing, and blue-collar training programs such as welding and automotive technology. The college facilitates career and technical education geared towards high-demand fields and offers transfer opportunities to four-year universities. It maintains an open admissions policy, allowing a broad spectrum of students to pursue higher education. While BMCC does not have a residential campus, it provides resources to assist students in finding local housing solutions. Notably, BMCC does not have a significant presence in intercollegiate athletics.

Blue Mountain Community College has an open admission policy which permits enrollment by any high school graduate or GED holding student.  553 students are enrolled on a full time basis, and 674 attend part time. In-state tuition for 2022/2023, excluding room and board, is $5,130 plus fees of $1,721.
